One of the funnest parts of a new Big Brother season is always about the rumours. The release date of the new cast, who they are, what kinds of people they are, not to mention the possible twists and challenges of the season, all come around to titillate and taunt us before the season begins. As ever, Big Brother 10 is surrounded with these rumours. The release of the cast information, for example. We reported that today could have been the day for the cast release, but if you read that article close, you'll note that it warned about the eventuality that it was yet another rumour. And so it was.
Allison Grodner tells us in her interview with WLBB that the cleaners are in the house after it has been transformed. The cast is just arriving in L.A. and there will be promotional shots taken and publicity stages to go through before they enter the house. The cast will not be released until the house guests are in.
What we can look forward to, I'd suggest relatively soon, are pictures of the house and it's new (old) decor. This season is supposed to be about a time warp -- going back to the roots of Big Brother. From the sounds of it, we can expect to see some reminders of each of the 9 previous seasons in the house. It should be interesting and enough to keep us content until the cast is released sometime next week.
In the meantime, the clock is ticking down and there are only 11 more days until the fun really starts!
The premiere date for the next Amazing Race, season 13, has been announced as September 28th. CBS tells us that the new season will be introduced as a part of the fall line-up. Casting completed last fall and the race finished in Portland, OR in mid-May.
We've truly lucked out this year due to the writers' strike which sent CBS out to create more reality television. The Amazing Race usually only has one airing a year.
WeLoveBigBrother.com spoke exclusively to BB’s Executive Producer Allison Grodner Tuesday about the brand new season.
While the houseguests may not be in the house yet, Grodner said the work is well underway.
“We’re getting closer and closer to the big move in day,” she said. “We’ve got the house still getting fixed. I’m watching it right now as we’ve got a cleaning crew in there right now and we’re making it all nice and pretty for the group.”
Grodner revealed when this group of 13 moves in, they will be complete strangers.
“As far as the cast is concerned,” she said, “rest assured they are all strangers.”
They also will be diverse in their backgrounds, points of view and ages.
“We have a wide range of ages this year,” she said. “There’s young, there’s old, there’s in between, there’s parents, there’s students, there’s people with white collar jobs, blue collar jobs. It’s all very different. We’ve got a lot of very specific types of people in this house, and people who have very extreme points of view than maybe we’ve had in the past.”
She said the house will also reflect this diversity.
“This year [the house] reflects the cast in all the different places and eras they come from,” she said. “It’s a very different house, it’s not our winter house. This is a very different thing and it goes with the cast.”
Grodner also confirmed live audiences will return to the show in a different way, as producers wanted to carefully include some successful elements from the show’s past.
“[We wanted to take] the original concept of the show of strangers moving into a house — with diverse points of view, coming from all places, all different ages, all different walks of life — and try to put that back into play for this special Big Brother 10 season,” she said.
Don’t forget about the twist! Grodner explained it will play out from day one.
“The game starts before these people even enter the house,” she hinted. “Expect the unexpected. Expect a completely different Big Brother from what you’ve seen this past year.”
Grodner has been a part of Big Brother since Season 2.
From some reports, we should learn the identities of the thirteen house guests that will be entering the house as of Wednesday, July 2nd. Remembering that rumours abound previous to any new season of Big Brother, it may be a wee bit early for such an announcement. The house guests aren't usually announced until within a week of the premiere. Could it be the house guests will be entering the house a lot earlier? Perhaps, but take everything you read on the subject pretty mildly unless it comes from CBS.
We do know, however, that Big Brother is just over a week away! Only 12 more days to wait!
Jeremy, the 30 year old real estate attorney, may have appeared 'perfect' in every way, but DeAnna Pappas clearly understood that sometimes 'perfect' is not all it's cracked up to be. The connection between DeAnna and Jeremy was based on the fact that they'd both lost parents. "Unless they'd gone through it, no one could understand what it's like." This rather naive binding in their relationship was clearly not enough for DeAnna, however. Jeremy's rather austere approach to a relationship left out room for fun - and for love. Jeremy took it well, however the fact that it clearly hit him hard.
So DeAnna now has two men to choose from. While in appearance they may seem very different, both bring to the relationship a sense of warmth, fun, and romance.
31-year-old Jason, an account executive, has one very important person in his life already. Three-year-old son, Tyson, is a built-in family should DeAnna choose Jason. This would likely scare away many women, but DeAnna, able to see past the idea that she'd have a step-son immediately, clearly adores little Tyson. What may scare many women, may be the actual clincher for DeAnna. The relationship between Jason and DeAnna has grown over each time they've spent together. It was Jason who first put DeAnna at ease so that she could talk about her mother.
Jesse, on the other hand, is a 26-year-old snowboarding professional. This blast into a completely different world clearly entices DeAnna. While Jesse has seemed a little boy for a good part of the season, he's picked it up over the last two episodes. His early discussions with DeAnna were to inform her that he wanted to be her friend before moving the relationship on. Jesse believes that friendship is the basis for a sound relationship. Wise thoughts. DeAnna has grown closer and more comfortable with Jesse from the beginning. Shocking many of the other men in the house, Jesse continued on in DeAnna's hunt for a husband.
So who will it be? Jason or Jesse. DeAnna entices the audience with three little sentences: "I'm very happy. I'm in love. And I'm engaged."
